The Fat Badger York Reopens Following £1 Million Transformation
The Fat Badger York has officially reopened after a £1 million renovation that has transformed the former Lamb & Lion into a characterful new addition to the Fat Badger Group.
TSet within two Grade II listed buildings built into York’s historic city walls, the revamped inn blends traditional English pub charm with refreshed interiors, new dining spaces, and expanded accommodation.
The renovation introduces 12 individually styled bedrooms — the first Fat Badger site to offer rooms — alongside a private dining snug and the venue’s much‑loved “secret gin garden,” offering views of York Minster. The relaunch builds on the success of the original Harrogate Fat Badger, known for its AA 2 Rosette kitchen and warm, playful atmosphere.
